  2.     SOX - SOund eXchange
  3.  
  4. SOX translates sound samples between various file formats.
  5. It also does a few simple sound effects.  SOX knows most
  6. of the standard PC, Mac, and workstation formats and
  7. can handle most anything you find on the Internet
  8. or a BBS.  It doesn't handle MIDI, MOD, or other music
  9. format files because they are not sound samples.

  11. This is the DOS binary distribution of SOX version 10.
  12. SOX is primarily a Unix utility.  Its command line
  13. options are a) unix-y and b) a massive pain.
